BikeToursDirect offers 20% savings on six European adventures

Discounts apply to selected tours in Italy, Austria, Germany, Poland, and Croatia

Chattanooga, TN, February 2006 -- BikeToursDirect, the one-stop resource for European bike tours, has announced a 20% price reduction on selected departures of six bicycle tours.

These seven-night cycling adventures, averaging 22 to 30 miles per day, have discounted prices ranging from €318 ($382*) to €719 ($863) per person, double.

Traversing the European landscape, they offer a huge array of possibilities: a blend of rugged hills and historic monuments in Tuscany; the celebration of Mozart’s 250th birthday in and around Salzburg; fairytale Bavarian castles on Germany’s medieval Romantic Road; vineyards between the ancient university city of Heidelberg and France’s Strasbourg; Krakow’s Renaissance-era churches, cathedrals, and palaces, and the stunning scenery of three surrounding national parks; and Istria’s (Croatia) Roman ruins and natural diversity.

“Tuscany” takes riders to Montecatini Terme, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano and Florence and is priced at €530 ($636) for the June 10 departure; the guided option is €719 ($863).

“Salzburg and Mozart” follows Mozart’s life, celebrating 250 years in 2006; the August 5 departure of the self-guided tour is €318 ($381.

Germany’s “Romantic Road,” priced at €398 ($478) to €476 ($571) for the July 9 departure, is a self-guided journey along one of Europe’s most beautiful roads between Imst and Donauwörth.

The “Heidelberg to Strasbourg” self-guided route takes cyclists past terraced vineyards, medieval castles and nature reserves in one of Germany’s best wine-producing regions. The July 15 departure is €382 ($458) to €558 ($670), depending on hotel category.

“Krakow and the South Polish National Parks” combines the diversity of three national parks with Krakow. The self-guided price is €380 ($456) for the July 22 departure.

“Istria” offers beautiful Mediterranean weather, a winding coastline, remote countryside and medieval villages and castles. The September 9 self-guided departure is €422 ($506).

Prices include accommodations in two- to four-star hotels and inns, breakfast daily, luggage transport, a tour packet with transfer information, tour description, route maps and detailed route planning, sightseeing information and an emergency hotline.
